The comprehensive head & neck, temporomandibular joints, and conventional visual and tactile examination component of the visit may include the following:
- Oral & minor salivary gland biopsies: surgical removal of tissue or bone specimen for histopathological analysis to obtain diagnosis
- Specialized laboratory tests: bacterial, viral cultures, salivary gland testing, and blood tests
- Order and interpretation of dental radiographs: plain films, Med-CT scans, Cone Beam CT scans, MRIs, and Ultrasounds
- Specialized intraoral & extraoral injections in the mouth or face for diagnostic purposes, and/or for administration of medication for pain relief, anesthesia and inflammation
